The Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Management Agency is an independent department of the Bradley County Government, responsible for emergency management activities in Bradley County, and the cities of Cleveland and Charleston, reporting to the Bradley County Mayor.

Our Mission

The mission of the Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Management Agency is to provide the highest level of emergency preparedness to the citizens of Cleveland and Bradley County as they face new challenges in the 21st century. Working as inter-agency coordinators in partnership with local, state, federal, and private entities, we seek to provide comprehensive emergency response, hazard planning, and disaster mitigation to Cleveland and Bradley County.

Disasters can strike at anytime and anywhere. They may take many forms, whether a hurricane, a tornado, a flood, a fire or a hazardous spill, an act of nature, or an act of terrorism. They may build over days or weeks, or may happen without any warning. Every year, millions of Americans face disasters and their terrifying consequences. Quite often, Bradley County residents have become victims of these events. Our hope is that you will find this site useful in finding information that can help prepare you and your family on the types of emergencies and hazards that our community may face. Public notification of the activation of our Storm Safe Ready Rooms will be through the emergency alert notification system. To receive these alerts, follow the instructions below.

Emergency Notifications

Cleveland-Bradley County Emergency Management Agency utilizes several methods to communicate valuable community information directly to residents using the latest technology. It is the responsibility of the Emergency Management Agency to notify the public of actual or impending large-scale incidents. Our duty is to inform the public of what the actual situation is, what they need to do to stay safe, and what emergency responders are doing to help the situation. These services are secure, reliable, and easy to use.

CivicPlusWe utilize a state-of-the-art product to send notifications to the public. Residents of Bradley County and those in neighboring
communities can immediately begin receiving pertinent information by signing up via one of the two following methods:

2. Add phone and address
3. Join Emergency Alert group
4. Choose how you want to receive alerts

5. Select Finish to submit

IPAWSIPAWS is a national alert system that Bradley County has been approved to use in the event of imminent danger. We are able to send SMS alert messages to all cell phones within reach of cell towers located in Bradley County as well as send alert messages to television and radio stations. You do not have to sign up for this service.
